Welcome to Team Calvin's Cadets’s Page!
Elizabeth Hanlon, Riva Atwater, Melana Nataro, and I (Brooke Gates) wanted to make it a tradition to walk for hospice each year in honor of our loved one, Calvin Atwater, who passed away with hospice care in 2011. As we all know, the unexpected happened and everything quickly changed due to the covid-19 pandemic. HOWEVER, we are all in this together and our team, Calvin’s Cadets, will be showing our support by VIRTUALLY walking for hospice this year on June 13th @ 1030. Instead of gathering at Siena College as we did last year, we are walking safely around our neighborhood.
Want to join us in making a difference? We’re raising money to benefit The Community Hospice Foundation as their staff (one being my aunt, Elizabeth Hanlon, BSN RN) take on the front line of this pandemic.
“All money raised will go to support the important coronavirus-related work The Community Hospice staff are doing. It will provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our patients and staff, help us add additional staff for increased bereavement services and Palliative Care visits, and purchase additional equipment such as iPads, as many of our hospice patients have to say goodbye to loved ones virtually” – The Community Hospice Foundation
Last year our goal was $350.00 and we surpassed that goal and raised $450.00! This year our goal is to raise $500.00!!! I am hopeful we can reach it with the help of supportive people like YOU! Any donation will help make an impact. Please share with others and thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
We are also walking in memory of: Lois Atwater, Sally Atwater Thompson, William Cooper, Donald & Eleanor LaFrance, Jim Mcmunn, Joan Williams, and Anita Wilt. #walktheweb #walk4hospice
